About the Author

Jae Heenen

This is my space—where stories breathe, and become something more.

I write across genres, drawn to the edges of human experience—the quiet moments, the unraveling, the truths people don’t always say out loud.

Some stories will sit gently with you. Others will stay long after you’ve tried to move on.

Some will push you—to break ceilings, challenge what you’ve accepted, and step into something new.

Others will strip you back, forcing you to shed, to shift, to evolve.

All of it is written with intention. With honesty that does not look away.

This is where I create without limits. Where every voice has weight. Where nothing is diluted—everything is explored.

No boundary is off-limits.

Take your time. Stay a while. There’s always more waiting beneath the surface.

Writing the fearless.
Relentlessly authentic.

LIONESS

Conditioned to Conquer

Read the first five pages.

Have you ever had the opportunity of watching a lioness hunt?

Not from a distance where it becomes spectacle. Not through narration that flattens it into something digestible. Not as an idea softened for comfort or observation.

I mean in reality. In silence. In the raw space where instinct takes over and everything unnecessary disappears.

Where there is no commentary. No interpretation. No buffer between what is happening and what is being witnessed.

There is nothing uncertain in her approach.

What you are witnessing is precision in motion.

Not emotion. Not chaos. Not performance.

Precision.

She is not chaotic. She is not emotional. She is not expressive in the way people mistakenly assign emotion to power. She is controlled execution built into living form.

And the strange thing about watching her is that nothing about her looks rushed. Even when everything around her is alive with movement, she remains unchanged in her internal state. There is no conflict between stillness and motion in her. They are not opposites. They are tools she uses interchangeably.

Her body moves low against the earth, not as weakness, but as design. Every muscle held in disciplined restraint, not because it is holding back, but because nothing is being wasted. There is no excess in her movement. No decorative effort. No unnecessary expenditure of energy.

Everything has been stripped down to what is required for outcome.

Her breath is controlled without effort. Not shallow. Not forced. Just regulated by something older than thought. Something deeper than awareness. A system that does not require permission to operate.

There is no hesitation in the way she advances. No internal debate.

1

No pause between perception and action. The body is already moving before interpretation has time to form.

And that is what makes her terrifying to anything that understands survival.

Because hesitation is where everything breaks.

Her stride does not announce her. It erases her.

The ground does not resist her presence; it accepts it.

Even sound loses its authority when she moves, as if the environment itself understands interruption is not permitted.

There is a kind of silence that follows her—not because she is quiet, but because everything else becomes less important in her presence.

She is built for this moment.

Not the moment of hunting.

The moment of becoming undeniable.

The colour of her body is not aesthetic. It is function disguised as form. Gold and earth tones dissolve into grass, heat, and shadow. She becomes indistinguishable from the land until the land is no longer protection for anything else.

In tall grass, she is not hidden.

She is erased on purpose.

And that erasure is strategy.

When the light strikes her, it does not soften her. It reveals structure lean power layered over bone and intention. She does not shine. She absorbs and releases light like she belongs to it. Like light is not something falling on her, but something passing through a system that was

designed to handle it.

Her eyes are locked forward.

Not scanning.

Not questioning.

Selecting.

There is no scattered attention in her gaze. No fragmentation. No uncertainty pulling her focus in multiple directions.

2

Everything irrelevant has already been removed from her awareness. There are only direction and outcome. The space between her and what she has chosen is already collapsing long before contact is made.

Even her anatomy reflects that same refusal of hesitation.

Her teeth are symbolic of danger. They are built for conclusion. For ending what must end without negotiation. There is no debate in her structure about what she is permitted to do. There is only design.

Her jaw is not a question.

It is an answer.

And when she closes in there is no confusion in the process.

No inner conflict.

No delay between decision and action.

Only movement already decided long before it is seen.

Because by the time she is visible in action, the outcome has already been shaped in silence.

And now pause.

Because this is where it turns.

Not away from her.

Into you.

You who are holding these pages.

You who are reading this with the same mind that has been shaped, adjusted, interrupted, and redirected more times than you have ever consciously noticed.

And you may not feel it yet but something in

you are already paying attention differently.

Because recognition does that.

It does not announce itself loudly.

It lands quietly and starts rearranging perception from within.

You were not built differently.

You were built with the same architecture of precision. The same capacity for instinct. The same ability to move without hesitation when certainty is allowed to exist.

3

But something happened along the way.

Not a single moment. Not a dramatic fracture. A slow layering. A repeated interference.

A rewriting that did not feel like rewriting at all.

You were taught to pause before action. To question before movement. To negotiate with yourself before you even began.

And at first, it seemed reasonable.

Careful. Thoughtful. Responsible.

But repetition has a way of becoming invisible.

And what becomes invisible becomes accepted.

And what becomes accepted becomes identity.

And identity begins to feel like truth.

“I can’t.”

“I should wait.”

“I’m not ready.”

“I’ll do it later.”

“I need more time.”

None of these are truth.

They are programming.

Layered so often, reinforced so quietly, repeated so consistently that they stopped sounding like instruction and started sounding like thought.

And this is where distortion lives.

Not in obvious limitation.

But in familiar limitation.

Because what you become fluent in, you stop questioning.

And what you stop questioning begins to run without resistance.

But underneath all of it the original system is still there.

Unbroken.

Unchanged in design.

Still capable of precision.

Still capable of movement without separation between intent and action.

4

Still capable of alignment.

The same way the lioness moves without negotiation between intent and execution, you too were never meant to live divided from yourself. You were meant to move as one system.

Not split.

Not delayed.

Not constantly interrupting your own direction.

Not arguing with yourself before every step forward.

And the truth is simple, even if it is uncomfortable.

You are not stuck.

You have been programmed.

And anything programmed can be reprogrammed.

Not through waiting.

Not through permission.

Not through becoming ready.

But through decision.

Through consistency of direction.

Through reclaiming authorship over what programs your thinking, one thought at a time.

Because the mind is not fixed.

It is responsive.

And what it is fed, it becomes fluent in.

Change what enters it and everything built from it begins to shift.

Not immediately in appearance.

But immediately in structure.

And structure determines outcome.

And once you see that clearly you stop asking when your life will change.

You start deciding how it will.

Lioness, you were conditioned to conquer.
